Walk With Purpose. Walk for Hospice.

Posted: April 29, 2026

An afternoon on the Walkerton riverfront trail supporting compassionate end-of-life care close to home.

Join us this Sunday, May 3rd in Walkerton for an afternoon of fresh air, community spirit, and meaningful impact.

The Walkerton Hike for Hospice runs from 1:00 to 3:00 P.M. at the Walkerton Agricultural Building, inviting individuals, families, and teams to come together in support of Saugeen Hospice. Set along the beautiful riverfront trail, this event is about more than just a walk—it’s about helping ensure compassionate care is available when it matters most.

The trail is accessible and pet-friendly, making it easy for everyone to participate—whether you’re walking with friends, family, or bringing along your four-legged companion. A first aid and water station will be available at the halfway point to keep everyone comfortable along the way.

Back at the registration area, there’s plenty to experience before and after your walk. Capture the moment at the photo booth, explore a display of student artwork from Walkerton District Community School and St. Theresa of Calcutta School, and grab some snack bar items to enjoy on the trail.

And keep an eye out—special guests like Smokey Bear or Sparky the Fire Dog may make a surprise appearance during the event.

We’ve “ordered” clear skies and warm temperatures for the day—but as always, be sure to dress for the weather.
